Commissioned by Jeanne d’Albret in 1540 for her son king Henri IV, bought by the Pichon-Longueville familly of Pauillac in 1864, BRIAT is still privately own by the descendant of the Pichon-Longueville after five generations.

Renovations have been made in 1950, 1982, 2012 to accommodate guests as best as possible respecting the style and history of BRIAT. This is an estate with a lot of personality where the owners live, very far from standardized castles owned by big companies, it has a soul and that is what we wish to share with privileged guests.

“My great grand father add the west wing in 1950, my father drained the surrounding and installed heating, bathrooms, swimming pool and tennis court in the 80’s, my wife and I continued in 2012 with bathrooms in every bed room, remodeled the kitchen, the Grange, and a little house “Fortune”. My wife being a cloth designer, the decoration changed, and I continue the production of Bas Armagnac of my ancestors.
